AMAZON REQUIREMENTS

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS IMAGING MATERIAL

Here is a more detailed format of the technical requirements for all photos or image material to be uploaded to Amazon Product Listing:

  • FORMAT:** TIFF (.tif/.tiff), JPEG (.jpeg/.jpg), GIF (.gif), PNG (.png).
  • DIMENSIONS:** at least 1000 pixels (px) in height or width.
  • COLOUR SPACE:** sRGB (preferred) or CMYK.
  • NAMING:** The file name must contain a character string (Amazon ASIN, 13-digit ISBN, EAN, JAN or UPC) followed by a period and an appropriate extension (example: B000123456.jpg or 0237425673485.tif).

 

Note: Image files may not be published if there are spaces, dashes or extra characters in the file name.

AMAZON STANDARDS FOR PRODUCT IMAGES

Amazon requires the following standards for images that appear as the main image on the product detail page:

  • The image must be the cover or a professional photograph of the product being sold.

  • The image must not contain unnecessary or misleading additional items.

  • The image must be in focus, professionally lit and photographed or scanned, with realistic colours and smooth edges.

  • The background must be pure white.

These are the key standards that product images on Amazon must meet for the main images on the product details page.

FOR ADDITIONAL OTHER PRODUCT IMAGE DISPLAYS

Product images on Amazon must meet the following standards:

  • The image must show or refer to the product being sold.
  • Other products or items that help demonstrate the use or scope of the product are also allowed.
  • The product and props must fill 85% or more of the image frame.
  • Cropped or close-up images are allowed.
    Backgrounds and environments are allowed.
  • Text, captions and presentation (info)graphics are allowed.

These are the key standards that product images on Amazon must meet when it comes to being used as the main image on a product detail page.
